Creativity Center of the University of Kragujevac, together with SUFIN Student Union of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, organized a workshop "Development of new products and prototypes" on December 21, 2018. The workshop was supported under the Erasmus IF4TM project and the SUFIN project "Educate and forward, SUFIN is so worth it" supported by the Ministry of Education of Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.

In order to get students better acquainted with the topic of development of new products and prototypes, the workshop was based on presentation of examples from the practice of lecturers. The workshop was divided into three parts, and the lecturers were:

-       Stefan Djuric, student of doctoral studies,

-       Nikola Beloica, master mechanical engineer and licensed engineer of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers

-       Aleksandar Miljković, student of doctoral studies.

The first part of the workshop covered the field of application of science for the purpose of making prototypes of a military vehicle. Through the interactive lecture divided into two phases the basic concepts and phases of scientific research work and the application of acquired principles and rules in the development of vehicles. Through the examples from the practice the phases of the mentioned processes were presented to participants of the workshop.

After this presentation, a presentation of the construction of elements and assemblies of hydropower plants and dams was followed. Practical examples of the models of these constructions made in the software package for three-dimensional modelling Inventor were presented, and they explained in detail through the views of their technical documentation. Also, the most important stages during the plant planning, as well as detailed calculations for them, were demonstrated.

The last part of the workshop was dedicated to presenting the basics of a vehicle restraint system design through the presentation and clarification of the design solutions of a vehicle of the student formula "Zastava 17", using the software package for 3D modelling Catia.
