The Science and Technology Park of Belgrade hosted the IF4TM Final Conference on the Third Mission of the Universities on November 23 and 24, 2018, as one of the important activities on the project.
Dr. Sasa Lazovic, Assistant Minister of Science and Technology Development, welcomed the participants at the opening of the conference, pointing out that the Government of Serbia is committed to developing the institutional framework and providing legal and infrastructural conditions for the implementation of the third mission of the university in Serbia. Marija Mirković, on behalf of NTP Belgrade, welcomed the participants and stressed the importance of cooperation between the education system and the economy in strengthening the company’s innovative capacities. Project coordinator IF4TM, prof. Dr. Vesna Mandic, reflected on the achieved results of the project in the past 3 years, noting that the IF4TM project was declared as one of the TOP20 projects financed under the Erasmus + program of the EU and that it will be presented on Annual conference of EACEA in Rome in December 2018.
The conference presented 25 papers, grouped in four sessions. In addition to the plenary session where the partners from the EU University held keynote speeches and where the Scientific and Technological Park of Belgrade was presented, three sessions were held on the topics: Technology Transfer and Innovation, Continuing Education and Social Engagement.
On the first day of the conference, a tour of the NTP Belgrade, innovative companies and other accompanying contents, which is available to tenants, was organized. Also, a meeting of the NTP Belgrade representatives was organized with the representatives of the University of Maribor, their Techno Center, and the representatives of the University of Kragujevac.
On the second day of the conference, the Round Table on the topic of the third mission was held, where the panellists and other participants of the conference discussed the challenges and major obstacles in the development of the third mission at the universities in Serbia, also referring to the sustainability of the results achieved at the IF4TM project.
