Student’s parliament of the SUNP third year in the row organized student conference SKONP. SKONP16 lasted from 14th until 17th March on Zlatibor with main topic “Modern trends and leadership potential of Youth”. Number of the topics of economy, entrepreneurship and youth capacity development were covered during conference.

Conference were supported by: State University of Novi Pazar, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Youth business forum, Ülker and Red Bull. During conference over 200 students from SUNP were able to follow presentations, panel discussions and trainings of 13 experts covering different aspects of promoting Youth potential and institutional support for developing of the business ideas which exists in Serbia.

Conference was opened by rector of the SUNP prof. dr Miladin Kostic, and during opening ceremony he received Certificate of Appreciation from the Students parliament for supporting activities on organization of the conference.

Second day of the conference had overall theme “How to become young entrepreneur” and started with panel discussion “Youth entrepreneurship as developmental potential of Serbia”.

Round table was opened by Doc. Dr Edis Mekic were he presented IF4TM project Institutional framework  for development of Third Mission of Universities in Serbia co-funded by Erasmus+ programme of European Union. Short overview of the components consisting third mission of universities social engagement, transfer of technologies and innovation and life long learning and partner institutions were presented. In line with main topic of the round table special attention was given to transfer of technologies and innovation aspect of the project. Competition for the best student innovation business idea which will be organized during project was announced. Methodology of competition was presented from the beginning of idea registration on INNO platforms which will be established on partner organizations, idea development through team work, participation on trainings, consulting, mentoring and proof of concept. Steps of the evaluations and preparations through consulting and mentoring for final regional competitions were presented. During project implementation best selected ideas will have additional support in prototyping, proof of concepts, mentoring, support in acquiring preincubation space and services and preparation of ideas for possible project proposals or grant applications.

Idea of open-innovation campaigns in IF4TM project where the enterprises will post the topics related to the development of specific products or services (in the form of challenge or a problem) and researchers and students will join the campaigns by presenting their ideas that can solve this problem/challenge got attention from the representatives of business community since this concept of open innovation is beneficial for both campaign applicants and enterprise and they expressed willingness to take part n this type of activities.

Petrasin Jakovljevic, president of the Regional chamber of commerce in Kraljevo and Managing director CEO of AD Metalac presented challenges in the entrepreneurship and differences in the management of the small and large industrial complexes.

Nerma Ljubovic from the sector for the of economy system of the Chamber of commerce and industry of Serbia provided statistical information of the Youth entrepreneurship of Youth in Serbia, were especially problematic is high level of unemployed Youth and statistical low number of the Youth entrepreneurs in the overall entrepreneurial community.

Irfan Dugopoljac representative of the ministry of economy presented calls of the ministry for the entrepreneurial grants, with emphasis on the start-up business grants.

Amel Mujanovic, entrepreneur and owner of the Brug Jeans Company presented challenges of the managing of the company. Risks, hopes and reality of the starting and developing business. He also stated that entrepreneurial society is open for cooperation especially with Universities and other institutions which can provide knowledge base for solutions of challenges this society face.

Prof dr. Ibrahim Totic, covered topic of the traditional role of the university and supporting role high education institution can provide youth to actively develop and take risks in to the entrepreneurship ventures.

All round table panelist and students agreed that support for the Youth and their initiative is crucial for future development of the Serbia. This was excellent opportunity to inform different institution about ongoing initiatives and establish future cooperation in delivery of the planned results and widening impact of different initiatives regarding developing youth potentials.

After round table Predrag Momcilovic representing Green youth of Serbia covered environmental problems and entrepreneurial challenges and possibilities for developing environment friendly business. Nikola Vucicevic held lecture about star up businesses and ways how to idea develop in fully formed start up business.

Last day of conference Branko Krsmanovic entrepreneur owner of Cinema Kupina lectured about need to have good idea as basic step for creating business. Ivan Bild covered topics of successful marketing in modern economy. Karolj Kunos bring up topics of the stock markets and how young people can use stock markets as the possibility for successful business. Marjan Cvetkovic spoke about leadership role in modern world.
